AFSCME Local 685 is pleased to announce that Aflac supplemental benefits will soon be available to all members – and we’re leading with one of the most requested protections: strong, off-the-job disability insurance.

For years, members have asked for affordable income protection when an injury or illness happens outside the workplace. Aflac’s group disability plan delivers exactly that – providing cash benefits directly to you when you’re unable to work, helping you cover rent, groceries, utilities, childcare, or anything else your paycheck normally supports.

Along with disability coverage, members will also have access to Aflac Accident Insurance and Aflac Hospital Indemnity, offering financial protection for unexpected injuries, hospital stays, and rising out-of-pocket medical costs. These benefits pay you directly and can be used for whatever you need most.

We know that many members already carry a mix of supplemental plans purchased over the years. To help you make informed decisions, an Aflac benefits counselor will be available to review your existing coverages and help determine whether your current plans are still the best options – or whether switching could save you money while improving your protection.

Aflac representatives will be visiting County worksites over the upcoming months to share options. In the meantime, click here more information or to schedule an appointment. These offerings are optional, fully voluntary, and portable – you can take them with you if you change jobs or retire.

Local 685 remains committed to bringing members strong, practical benefits that provide real financial security. Aflac is the next step forward.
