The Coalition of L.A. Probation Unions has issued a formal letter to Supervisor Lindsey Horvath following her deeply misleading remarks about collective bargaining agreements and civil service protections in the wake of the Attorney General’s decision to place the Probation Department into receivership. (Click here to read her statement)

Our letter sets the record straight: our contracts do not shield wrongdoing. They protect due process and the rights of the sworn professionals who keep the system functioning. Supervisor Horvath’s comments not only scapegoat rank-and-file staff for failures created by County leadership, they also expose the real agenda behind Senate Bill 357 (Menjivar): union-busting and dismantling civil service protections.
