Dear Sisters and Brothers,

Attorney Tom Yu will be conducting a focused workshop for all Deputy Probation Officer IIs who were deployed or reassigned to the juvenile halls AND who subsequently received discipline arising out of duties performed during that deployment.

This workshop is intended to review and assess potential legal remedies available to affected members. Specifically, we will evaluate the logistics of pursuing appeals of discipline and examine issues related to the fraudulently-adopted portion of the Memorandum of Understanding, Article 15, Section 2, dated August 8, 2023.

This will be a working session. We will outline possible strategies, discuss procedural timelines, and ensure members understand their rights and options moving forward.

Date: March 12, 2026

Time: 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM

Location: AFSCME Local 685, 3375 E Slauson Ave., Vernon, CA 90058

If you are impacted, your participation is important. These matters affect not only individual cases but also broader protections for our membership.

For members who are unable to attend on March 12, an additional workshop will be scheduled shortly thereafter.

In solidarity,

AFSCME Local 685 Executive Board
